TEHRAN - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has stated that the extensive propaganda campaign the enemy is conducting against the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps is a sign of the IRGC’s efficacy.
The Supreme Leader made the remarks in an address to a large gathering of IRGC commanders and servicemen in Tehran on Wednesday held to commemorate Pasdar Day, which means IRGC Servicemen’s Day in Persian.Ayatollah Khamenei praised the IRGC for their efforts to safeguard the Islamic Revolution through difficult times and their role in building up the country over the past three decades.
The IRGC has maintained its identity since its inception, and its servicemen have always been able to act as conditions require, he added.
The Leader stated that the Iranian nation has acquired invaluable experience and has become politically mature due to various events that the Islamic Republic has encountered over the years.
The Islamic Republic has many adversaries, and that is the reality of modern Iran, he said.
The Islamic Revolution has broken the grip the United States and the Zionist regime had maintained over Iran and has humiliated them in the eyes of the international community, he stated.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States claimed that it sought to establish and lead a new world order, but today U.S. officials are facing ever-increasing animosity from nations across the world, Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
The Leader also dismissed the recent United Nations Security Council resolution imposing sanctions on Iran, which the U.S. and its allies pushed through.
“They talk in such a way to make us believe that there is something really dangerous behind these threats,” he stated.
The Leader also called on the Iranian nation to remain vigilant in the face of all the internal and external threats.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that a thorough understanding of affairs in real time and an ability to predict future events are necessary for effective planning and achieving objectives.
